PAST CONTINUOUS TENSE

Past continuous tense adalah bentuk waktu yang menyatakan kejadian/perbuatan yang sedang berlangsung pada masa lampau.

2. Kegunaan:
   

a.Menyatakan perbuatan atau peristiwa yang sedang dilakukan pada waktu lampau dengan waktu tertentu. Contoh: I was sleeping last night.

b.Menyatakan perbuatan atau peristiwa yang sedang dilakukan pada waktu lampau ketika perbuatan atau peristiwa lainterjadi. Contoh: I was playing badminton when the flood occurred two days ago.

a.Kalimat Positif Verbal :

S (I/You/We/They)+ Was+ VI + ing

S (He/She/It )+ Were + VI + ing

b.Kalimat Negatif Verbal :

S (I/You/We/They) +Was + Not + VI + ing

S (He/She/It )+ Were + Not + VI + ing

c.Kalimat Interogatif Positif Verbal :

Was+ S (I/You/We/They) + VI + ing

Were+ S (He/She/It )+ VI + ing

d.Kalimat Interogatif Negatif Verbal :

Was+ Not + S (I/You/We/They) + VI + ing

Menyatakan perbuatan atau peristiwa yang telah selesai dilakukan sebelum perbuatan/peristiwa lain terjadi pada waktu lampau. Contoh: They had left before you arrived.

a. Kalimat Positif :

S (I/You/We/They)+ Had+ VIII

S (He/She/It )+ Had+ VIII

b. Kalimat Negatif:

S (I/You/We/They) + Had + Not + VIII

S (He/She/It )+ Had + Not + VIII

c. Kalimat Interogatif:

Had+ S (I/You/We/They) + VIII

Had+ S (He/She/It )+ VIII

d. Kalimat Positif Nominal:

S (I/You/We/They)+ Had+ Been + Complement

S (He/She/It )+ Had+ Been + Complement

e. Kalimat Negatif Nominal:

Menyatakan perbuatan atau peristiwa yang telah terjadi dalam jangka waktu cukup lama sebelum perbuatan/peristiwa lain terjadi pada waktu lampau. Contoh: They had been talking for over an hour before Andi arrived.

b.Kalimat Negatif Verbal:
