Indonesia is the biggest country in ASEAN, but unfortunately biggest country does not mean the people live in welfare. Indonesia country is in a strategic place, between two continents and two oceans. But as we can see there still a lot of ship anchored in Singapore than in Indonesia. Even though, to anchored in Singapore cost more than in Indonesia. Of course this happen with reasons, based of some articles explained that Indonesia have a lot of maritime law violation and also because of the overlapping regulation in Indonesia. These reason made the people to think twice about their safety and the unclear regulation.
Beside that, we can see the reality of Indonesia economy by the exporter level between Indonesia and other country in ASEAN. Based on World Bank record since 1960-2018, in 2018 Indonesia in fifth rank in value of exports of goods and services. Indonesia still left behind Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Vietnam. Sadly, the fact is the truth, if we combined the population between those four countries it still less than Indonesian population. The combination between those four countries is about 205 million peoples and Indonesian population is about 270 million people.
From what we read above, Indonesia is a big country. But the human resources is not balanced or even less than we need. That is why education and also the future generation needs to put more attention for their own country.
