Sumber Sirah is an interesting place in Tulungagung, East Java. It is a water fountain located in Sukodono village. In spite of having wide area, this fountain is not so deep. The deepest point is only about two meters. Furthermore, this place is very shady. When we enter this place, the first time we find are a big Banyan tree and Trembesi tree. Then, we can see the fountain surrounded by other smaller trees. Moreover, the roots come out from underground and spread out along the fountain side make this place looks so natural and amazing. In addition, we can enjoy the birds sing and dance freely among leafy trees.

There is no official written history about this place. According to the local residents, this place was a swamp in paddy-field tens years ago. At that time, people though that this fountain only made disaster. Every rainy season the water blew up from the big source and made flood. The flood came endlessly then the Dutch tyrants had to handle it. The tyrants did some researches and finally found the source of disaster. The source was blocked with litters and straws. After that, a Banyan tree was stuck into the source in order to hold the water pressure.

The local governor has already planned to develop this place as a tourist attraction. According to the master-plan, a wide swimming pool will be built at the east side of the fountain. The water will be supplied from the fountain. In addition, next beside the swimming pool there will be a mini-zoo in order to make this place more attractive. Therefore, Sumber Sirah is a considerable place to visit.
