Schneider Electric Campus Ambassador 2014

Schneider Electric is a company that put much attention to energy management.According to Schneider Electric annual report 2013, cities today contain 50% of the world’s population, consume 75% of global energy consumption, and give off 80% of greenhouse gas emissions. As the cities are growing by 2050 they will be home to 70% of the people in the world. Schneider Electric, as the global specialist in energy management already works with more than 200 cities across the world and helps provide visible benefits to cities and their constituents such as energy savings up to 30 %, reduction of water losses up to 15%, and reduction of travel time and traffic delays up to 20%.

Schneider Electric Campus Ambassador is a Schneider Electric's program for students whose passion is energy management. I’m so passionate about energy conversion and renewable energy, especially after I got Electrical Power Conversion subject on 5th term. My curiosity grows bigger since I’ve started to join in micro hydro power plant project, organized by BEM FTUI, as a volunteer. Becoming a Schneider Electric Campus Ambassador will give me the opportunity to participate in increasing awareness of others in energy management sector, for UI students and world in general. This program will also give me challenge in terms of improving my knowledge about energy management and also my responsibilities to increase other’s awareness and involvement to make a better energy usage. My goal to contribute in world’s green energy will become easier to achieve.

Talking about energy, that’s always relate to efficiency energy. Efficiency means how we got a higher output for the same amount of input. Energy will not run out. Just like Law of Conservation Energy that said energy can be neither be created nor destroyed but only changed. This law can be our fundamental to be more concern about increasing efficiency energy. Increasing efficiency energy not only be valid for one sector, but also for all sectors in our daily life. If we implement efficiency energy to all sectors of our daily life, can you imagine how much costs that we can save up? If we manage our energy properly, we indirectly manage this world in order to make the next generation can live their life better than us now.
