Why should we learn grammar? It's not important!

The importance of English is only speaking! Grammar is a later matter.

If you want to write, just write! You don't need to think about grammar. I told you, grammar isn ot that important.

Just take it easy with grammar, you know that it's not important.

Have you ever heard these words from people around you, who think that grammar is not important? Or maybe you are one of those who think like that? Don't think that way, dear! Grammar plays a crucial role in English. If you make mistakes in grammar, it can lead to misunderstandings, especially when you write.

With good grammar, your writing will look more professional and be easier for readers to understand. On the other hand, if your grammar writing is messy, it will lead to disorganization and make readers doubt your writing. Understanding grammar is important for good writing because good grammar is the key to achieving quality communication.

Let's get acquainted with Grammar!

From the Cambridge dictionary, we know that Grammar is the rules about how words change their form and combine with other words to make sentences. Of course, to make those sentences we need elements of grammar. 5 basic elements of grammar can help us, Punctuation, Determiners, Word Order, Tense and Aspect, and Connectors. Each of these elements has a connected function and will create effective sentences in good writing.

1. Punctuation

Punctuation helps set the gap between sentences, adjust the reader's intonation, and show grammar in writing.

2. Determiners

Determiners are a word or word group that is placed in front of nouns to limit the meaning of the noun.

3. Word Order

Word Order is a sequence or arrangement of words to form a phrase, clause, or sentence. In English, the general arrangement is SVO (Subject - Verb - Object). Besides the SVO arrangement, there are also other patterns, namely SVOI (Subject, Verb, Indirect Object) and SVOA (Subject, Verb, Adverb Object). Word Order has functions to ensure that sentences become clear and understandable.
