Aceh, a region with special autonomy in Indonesia, faces various dynamics in governance and development. Students from two leading universities in Aceh, UIN Ar-Raniry and Syiah Kuala University (USK), have critical and constructive views on the current government. Here is an overview of their perspectives.

Transparency and Accountability

Students from UIN Ar-Raniry and USK emphasize the importance of transparency and accountability in governance. They often criticize the lack of openness in the management of regional budgets and highlight allegations of corruption. Many argue that public funds are frequently not used effectively for development but are instead misused by certain officials. They demand improvements in oversight mechanisms and stricter law enforcement against corruption cases.

Quality of Education and Health

As students in higher education institutions, the students of these two universities are very concerned about the education sector. They feel that the government should focus more on improving the quality of education, including facilities and human resources in the education field. Similarly, in the health sector, they expect improvements in health services, availability of medicines, and medical facilities, especially in remote areas.

Infrastructure and Economic Development

Students from UIN Ar-Raniry and USK see an urgent need for more equitable infrastructure development. They believe that good infrastructure development will support local economic growth. Additionally, they want greater support for MSMEs to reduce unemployment and improve community welfare. The students also criticize the disparity in development between urban and rural areas, which is still very pronounced in Aceh.

Cultural and Environmental Preservation

These groups of students also show concern for cultural and environmental preservation. They criticize the government for not paying enough attention to these aspects in development policies. Students from UIN Ar-Raniry and USK demand more sustainable policies that focus not only on economic development but also on the preservation of local culture and the natural environment.
