You can find important information, buy something, order something and even can get a new friend by your smart phone, tablet especially computer. More and more families have computers in their homes and children spend a great deal of their free time using their home computers, there are some advantages and disadvantages of this situation, they are:
THE ADVANTAGES
- Academic growth is one of the best advantages of computer to children. Children can use computer to study about their subject and find many new knowledge from computer.
- Children will know about every part or every tools of computer and they can follow improving technology well.
- Children can find and play many games that make them more active. The games teach children about how make strategy, how to survive, role play and etc.
THE DISADVANTAGES
- The worst impact of computer for children is children imitate negative thing from computer as like violence and pornography.
- Children limit social interaction. If children always spend their time using computer they will lose their time to play with their friend in the real life.
- Children can be lazy to read and study because they prefer play games on computer rather than do their homework.
- Computer will affect children’s health as like eye health if they play passes a predetermined threshold.
Base on the advantages and disadvantages above I think the development of technology is cannot be avoided for every people especially for children, we must keep abreast of technological developments because it is important for our future. But it is come back for us as a parents, teacher and adult people how we can introduce computer for children well.
- Introduce computer or content on computer according to their age.
- Accompany them when they play computer.
- Make deal with children about what should be opened and what should not be opened on computer.
