This time we will discuss the thoughts of Muhammad Abduh and Muhammad Iqbal. First we will discuss Muhammad Abduh's thoughts first.


Muhammad Abduh's thoughts. In making improvements Muhammad Abduh saw that an improvement did not always come through revolution or similar means. 

Muhammad Abduh tried to create a good condition, a condition that was in accordance with the demands of Islam and could face the demands of the times. 

Muhammad Abduh and his thoughts tried to improve the thoughts that already existed, the previous one. There are various ways and methods used by Muhammad Abduh to combat this. Among other things by way of;


Fighting the opinion of public opinion and the stagnation of society through literary approaches, linguistic discussions, and the sentence and meaning of words that are explicit from a thought.


Muhammad Iqbal's thoughts.
1. The divinity of this phase occurred from 1901 to about 1908. At this stage Iqbal tended to be mystic-pantheistic. At this stage Iqbal believes that God is eternal beauty, his existence without being dependent on anything and preceding something.
2. Ego. Iqbal uses the term to indicate independence, personality, individuality. Iqbal said that God is the absolute highest ego and from that highest ego the ego begins.
