Feminism movement with struggle for gender as its alienation movement is still a big agenda, up to now, in struggling similarity and equality of women right to men. In its early, this movement was begun with a demand of unfairness of treatment towards women and then it expanded to claim for social unfairness through the demands of right equality that they want to reach. Actually, the gender issue, or what people called "feminism", was an effort to rise women position and to omit a gap between men and women as minimal as they could, either in social-cultural or political-economy aspects, etc.

Today in the 21th century, the fight for feminism have become more expand and noticeable. Modern feminism rise not only focusing on women's rights but also embracing men attention to be more proactive and concern to their partners. What does it means exactly? Modern feminism means inviting men to have a seat at the table and opening up the conversation to include them. It  means bringing men into the fold so that women can succeed on a global scale. It also means making gender inequality as a social issue - a people problem, rather than just a female issue.

The questions remains in the society whether it is important or not to involve men towards the feminism. Recent studies by Feminist Majority Foundation showed the improvement of having men in feminism movement are helping women to gain their rights. By embracing feminist ideas men are actively advocated for female equality for various causes typically associated with feminism, including but not limited to, anti-rape and anti-violence activism, as well as challenging the sexualization of women in the media. White Ribbon Campaign, HerForShe Campaign, are several examples which show sharing the responsibility of equality does not mean women giving up ladies, but  it means women gearing up for the Fe-MEN-ist movement.

To appreciate the talent, drive, intelligence and thousands of other qualities that make women valuable, modern feminism believe in the idea of having given men the chance to see it and to celebrate it. The modern feminism by embracing the man are  talking about equality into practice what women preach and foster a collaborative energy that has men advocating for women, so is women advocating for men in society.

The Impact of Feminism in Indonesia

At the start of the 21th century, feminism remains problematic for many Indonesians, especially those who are not directly concerned with women's issues or who are not familiar with the development of feminism in Asian countries. The terms 'feminism' , 'feminist', even 'gender' were questioned my majority of Indonesians and considered as a western concept; anti-men, it perceives men to be the source of all gender inequality; it promotes the acceptance of lesbians and so forth. This was despite the fact that the principle of gender equality is embodied in article 27 of the 1945 constitution, and in other basic laws of republic of Indonesia.

However, the modern society in 21th century now, through campaign and media around the world, helps the understanding of feminism and how important is the movement to  help Indonesian women reaching for their rights. Especially in certain region in Indonesia like Maluku, Nusa Tenggara, and Sulawesi, where most of its people are still experiencing patriarchy system and separation jobs of gender caused by different society's norms and value regarding of women's 'what can do' and 'what can't be do'  tasks. The influence of having the feminism movement slowly appear when indonesian people (especially youth) become aware of the separation wall between men and women in terms of:

1.  Education

Before there's any movement about women's right, most of Indonesian girls (age 7-18) were prohibited to pursue a higher knowledge. The reason behind this was the stereotype of people and parents that sees girls as an 'asset' that must quickly be 'sold' or in this case get married. Lack of education impact the generation after generation make the same mistake again. Feminism gains women to notice the importance of education as one of the basic needs in human rights.

2. Domestic Abuse

The increase of feminism helps the victims of domestic abuse by elevating women's education. That root cause of problem makes women weak, afraid of saying their opinion, too dependable on their husbands in the matter of economic situation; resulting womens aren't seen as an equal partner because they tend not to have any stance or  knowledge on theirself.
