Jakarta, 9 May 2018 -- ASEAN Farmers Organisations Support Programme (AFOSP) is being presented as one of European Union projects in EU-ASEAN Cooperation Avenue as part of the commemoration event of Europe Day that is held in Bank Mandiri Museum. The aim of AFOSP participation is to increase the awareness towards the program by showcasing AFOSP achievements to key stakeholders.
In AFOSP booth, attending guests will see how the programme has worked to improve livelihoods and food security for smallholder farmers across the ASEAN region, with particular focus to Indonesia, Myanmar, Vietnam, Philippines, Malaysia, Laos PDR, and Cambodia. All products that are presented in the booth will show how ASEAN Foundation and its key partners strengthen the role of agriculture cooperative to address challenges and opportunity of the ASEAN Economic Community and also bridges the farmer organisations with relevant ASEAN bodies by providing platform like learning series to share best agriculture practices.
''The ASEAN Foundation continues to receive support from European Union-International Fund for Agricultural Development through the MTCP-2 component to bridge the coordination between relevant ASEAN Sectoral bodies under AMAF and AMRDPE with agricultural related organisations by supporting activities such as the ASEAN Learning Series and Policy Engagement, development of ASEAN Roadmap for Agricultural Cooperatives, and Knowledge Management on ASEAN Agricultural Standards.'' said Ms. Elaine Tan, Executive Director of ASEAN Foundation
