The first content that students created was content that explained how to care for kitchen equipment made of wood. Because according to him, there are still people who don't know how to care for kitchen utensils made of wood properly, if the way to care for them is wrong it will make the equipment more brittle. The content is made from several references found on websites such as instructables.com and priceza.co.id

Before carrying out maintenance, we must know the wood material that is used as kitchen equipment. When we have bought kitchen equipment, especially those made of wood, we will take care of it so that it is not easily brittle because there are still many who think that all equipment made of wood will be easily brittle and moldy.

The first step to take when caring for wooden kitchen equipment,

1. Check the kitchen equipment you have, for example clean and dry wooden kitchen equipment should not smell unless it has been oiled, if there is a mildew smell, wash it with hot water, dish soap and a bristle brush. Do not let it soak in water as the water will soak into the wood and cause mold or mildew.

2. Sand each anchovy of kitchen equipment that is rough. Usually equipment made of wood when used frequently will look rough on the edges. Then use medium-sized sandpaper to remove any roughness on the edges of the fixture. Then rinse the equipment and let it dry first.

3. Condition the wood. Use mineral oil and then apply the oil to the wood equipment you have. Mineral oil is umami and food safe and acts to condition dehydrated wood fibers. The wood oil will provide a protective layer.

4. Let the Wood Sit Overnight + Enjoy!

Let your utensils rest overnight to allow the dehydrated wood to absorb oil deeper into its fibers. Wipe off the extra cream with a dry paper towel. The wood should look glowing but not slick.

5. Caring for Your Wooden Utensils

Do not let wooden kitchen utensils soak in water

The water can soak into the wood (causing mildew) and deform the shape. After proper conditioning, the need and temptation to soak your utensils should disappear as they should be much easier to clean with a quick rinse.
