Ngabang - English camp activity with the theme of Fun and Learning Camp ESA 2023 was first on the main campus of the Catholic University of St. Augustine Hippo, Landak, West Kalimantan. The activity was held from Friday, 7 July 2023, to Sunday, 9 July 2023. The event was organized by the ESA (English Student Association) catholic university of St. Augustine Hippo with full support from the Head of the English Education Study Program.
This activity was attended by English education students consisting of 59 semester 2 participants and 26 semester 4 and 6 committee members. The English Camp was held for three days and two nights and was accompanied by several English Education Lecturers who also facilitated and filled in on the event.
"The activity is fun. There are lots of lessons to be learned from this activity, starting from contests, talk shows, sharing sessions, creativity nights, and also family nights and games that are presented. What is certain is that these activities are very positive and very motivating," said Novi, one of the activity committee fun and learning camp ESA 2023.
The purpose of this English camp activity is to improve the learning abilities of English education study program students, as well as invite English education study program students to learn using fun methods.

Novi also explained that this fun and learning activity is an activity that has positive benefits for students in the camp environment. Students unconsciously practice their English skills through communication with their friends, lecturers, and even with the committee because, in the camp environment, students are required to use English although. They are allowed to use a cell phone to translate language before speaking if there is vocabulary they don't know. It's the first step to improving students' English skills because, with a fun learning experience, it will be easier to accept.
"So, the Fun and Learning activities have gone well and smoothly. Even though there have been problems with changes to several schedules, the activities have continued to run well and have been enthusiastically attended by the participants. I hope this activity can become an annual ESA program that is mandatory because through this activity, students will continue to be motivated to learn English," said Novi.
The English Camp activity was successfully held on the main campus of the Catholic University of Saint Augustine Hippo, this activity succeeded in motivating the participants, especially 2nd semester English education students, to continue to develop their English skills because they felt this activity was very fun and useful for them and they even wanted to become committee members for the next English camp.
