All praise and gratitude for Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta'ala's taufik and guidance for all of us. Shalawat and greetings to His Majesty the Prophet Muhammad Salallahu Alaihi Wasallam, who has been the best role model until the end of time. I'm Drs. Nofrizal Usra, M.Pd as a member of the Bukittinggi City Regional People's Representative Council from the National Mandate Party (PAN) faction appreciated the presence of the book "Kinantan Across the Ages" History of the Bukittinggi Zoo, written by Irwan Setiawan. This book is one of the works that will enrich the treasures of historical studies of the City of Bukittinggi and the history of the Bukittinggi Zoo. Of course, this book has gone through quite a long process so that it deserves to be published and known to the public.
If we look at the history of Bukittinggi City more broadly, we will certainly get an idea of what this city is like has had a big role in every era. During the Dutch colonial era, especially during the Padri War that raged. The city of Bukittinggi (Fort de Kock) received special attention from the Dutch. Because of the city's important role and strategic position, Bukittinggi has become active in the history of this country. In this city, the Dutch established Fort de Kock, building a military power center. Developing upper markets, lower markets and various other facilities. The Dutch even arranged a flower garden which later became the Bukittinggi Zoo.
