ABSTRACT

This study aims to improve the religious attitudes of 9th grade students at SMP Muhammadiyah 9 Yogyakarta through the homeroom technique. The background of this study is the challenges in strengthening religious character faced by students, based on observations that show that their religious knowledge and practices are still not optimal. The method used is counseling guidance action research with two cycles, each consisting of two meetings. Initial assessments were carried out through surveys, interviews, and discussions, followed by group guidance using the homeroom technique which includes thematic discussions, joint prayers, and reflections. The results showed a significant increase in students' religious character, measured by an average pre-test score of 28.6 which increased to 36.3 in the second cycle post-test. These findings indicate that the homeroom technique is effective in improving students' religious character.
