Community Empowerment for Creating MSME Product Packaging Designs in Rejosari Village

Thursday, September 21, 2022, in Rejosari village, empowerment activities for local MSMEs were carried out by students of KKN MBKM, State University of Malang. The activity was carried out at the porang MSME production house (Mr. Jaiz's residence). This activity aims to increase the competitiveness of MSME products in Rejosari village in terms of product packaging. 

This activity is a series of activities from the KKN MBKM group at State University of Malang which takes place from 22 August - 16 December 2022. The activity begins with educating MSME owners and then continuing with assistance in making designs. Education is provided on matters that influence good packaging design and which can attract the interest of many masses, from planning to design execution. Apart from that, knowledge about software is also given to make designs available on mobile phones. After providing education, KKN student groups provide assistance in making designs. Business actors are given directions in making designs which will then be evaluated together. After carrying out the stages mentioned above, the final step is to monitor and evaluate the sales results obtained.

According to the KKN group, in addition to packaging design assistance from other parties is needed to help increase the competitiveness and sales of MSME products in Rejosari village. It needs to be admitted that MSME products in Rejosari village are still lacking in exposure from outsiders. The hope of the KKN group is that with this activity, MSME actors, especially in Rejosari village, can develop together and can increase the competitiveness of MSME products, at least in the surrounding environment. Because with increased competitiveness, sales can increase and the wheels of the community's economy can rotate well.
