ABSTRACT
Islamic boarding schools are Islamic educational institutions that prioritize Islamic religious morals as a guide to life to be understood, lived, and practiced directly in life. Formal education in schools and religious education in boarding schools are two different environments.
Both have significant differences in approach, curriculum, and goals. With the existing differences, this can cause problems, for example in terms of self-adjustment of students who want to move to boarding schools after attending formal schools.
With this, the author conducted research through descriptive qualitative methods with the aim of knowing how the influence of boarding school culture on the adaptation of new students from formal schools on how to understand and respect new habits and rules that exist in the boarding school environment. In addition, this research wants to know what obstacles will be faced by new students.

ABSTRAK
pondok pesantren merupakan wadah pendidikan Islam yang mengutamakan moral agama Islam sebagai pedoman hidup untuk dipahami, dihayati, serta diamalkan secara langsung dalam kehidupan. Pendidikan formal di sekolah dan pendidikan agama di pondok pesantren merupakan dua lingkungan yang berbeda.
