Emmeril Kahn Mumtaz or Eril, primogeniture of Ridwan Kamil, Governor of West Java was swept away by the Aare River flow on May 26th, 2022. At that time, Eril went to Switzerland to look for a master's degree campus with his friends, sister, and mother. On the way, he and his entourage planned to bathe in the Aare River which is located in Bern. Previously, Eril made sure all conditions there were fine. He who has a diving certificate, was able to measure the Aare river flow. Then, due to river conditions that was not good, he forbade his mother to join the swim. So, only three people that he allowed to go swimming, including himself. Eril was with her sister, Zara and her friend swimming around the river whose the banks of it are in the form of stairs. In order to ensure his sister's condition, he also gave a swimming float to Zara. He stil kept making sure that his friend and his sister's condition were okay when they wanted to go up to the surface. He was in the very back position to ensure the safety of his sister and his friends. Unfortunately, Eril was swept away by the river flow. While drifting away, Eril had shouted "Help" and it was heard by the people around the river. So, the people around there immediately called the police to help Eril. He was declared swept away on May 26th, 2022 at 09.40 AM local time.
Until Wednesday, June 8, 2022 at 06.50 AM local time, Eril's body was found by a woman teacher when she was walking to school, Geraldine Beldi. After that, Ridwan Kamil and Eril's body were returned to Indonesia from Switzerland. They arrived at Soekarno-Hatta Airport on Sunday, June 15, 2022 at 03.45 PM. Eril's body was dispatched to the cemetery area at 8 AM and buried in the Islamic Center area in Cimaung, West Java. The funeral procession lasted until 11.45 AM.
