Love and Honesty

Love and honesty, it sounds like a best seller novel's title,,,well, that words is representing how a person give their effort to fulfill the other person requirement for being trust. To love is the main key to give more on everything that an individual do, and honesty is a color that coloring what an individual do. Love and honesty in a synergy possibly become a great power to contribute in creating a success story.

The power of love and honesty can work in business as well as in any other part of life. It is the fundamental of peaceful social interaction of human in any situation. In the long term business, we only may succeed, if we are honest with everything that our company produces, e. g: honesty in company advertisements, honesty in the quality of the products and services, and have a honest interest to provide such services or products for the mutual benefit of all people involved in that business. On the long term, we can only prosper in our business and life, if all of our partners in business and life benefit and prosper as well.

Love and honesty, is not only about an upper ground concepts, it is also about a grounded action. In business practices we must valuing our action with these values. Love means that we have to keep a harmony with our business environment, internally and externally. And honesty will be the guard to guarantee that the relationship will sustain in a long term. That is how a Good Corporate Governance is  come into a soft law in business ethics.

A harmony in business should take involve the both side; stakeholder and shareholder. Good Corporate Governance have a five principle to be a code of conduct in making a harmony in business:

1.Transparency : if we have a business we must provide a sufficient information about how we run our business and all the information related to business that accessable to all of the stakeholder and the shareholder.

2.Accountability : Being transparent is not enough, because all of the information that provided is also must be accountable.

3.Responsibility : To create a harmony, a business must have a continuous action that show a responsibility to all of the surroundings with following all of the rules.

4.Indepedency : It is the another important aspect that a business should meet it, independent mean that the business is free from unexpected intervension from other parties. Independent condition will guarantee a business to grow successfully and keep the  business sustainability.

5.Fairness: Summarizing all above, a business should do all of the action in fairness.

Good corporate governance is expecting to be front guard to rule the business activities so the impact will last in a positive side.

Love and honesty that coloring the business lifecycle will leave a different taste. Since the global financial crisis in the mid 2008, everybody realizes that nothing will last if it is stand in wrong way. Fraud, bad trick, corruption, and bribery, will never bring a continuous and successful business.

We can mentioned a name of a big company that collapsed in a three two one countdown because of the greediness of the CEO, ENRON. Because of the financial reports that re-engineering in a bad way, through the creative and systematic accounting which is not fulfill the good corporate governance principals. Eventhough ENRON is always awarded by the most sucessful company, as the ilustration before that there is nothing will last by doing the bad thing.

Sometimes we feel that love and honesty is just a cliche. It is only suitable for the melancholic person. But, if we look back into our past, love and honesty will give a kind touch to solve all the problem faced. It also happens in a business situation, sometimes we feel hard to keep our partner or costumer in our business, but through love and honesty approach we already prepared a long time relationship between our business and our partner or costumers. If we sell our services or products at a fair rate, leaving to all the members of our business the freedom of having an adequate margin of profit to allow an enjoyable way of living, they all will be happy members of that business. Everybody, including our customers agree, that others may have the right of a happy and enjoyable living as well, so all of our customers may agree that we need a healthy margin to survive in business. But never survive at the expense of someone else.

Beside the costumer and our business partners, we must also look into the inside of our internal condition. As a business leader, never forget to remind of the employee in our business or company. The employee is a four wheel that will drive our company or business into the growth condition or will be the boomerang that lead our company into the fall condition. So, it is important to manage the employee. Finding a right employee is as difficult as finding a right employer. But once we have found one. Show them by being honest, awareness of their needs and willingness and love to meet their needs. Show them that we are equal partners.

Employee and employers are absolutely equal partners. Because an employee needs and employer to survive financially in this earthly life, as well as an employer can only survive by having employees working in their business. Love and honesty should be the bases for a long time relationship in business between employers and employees. Both parties are of equal importance. Always keep in mind, which an employer never can be happier than their employees, and employees never can be happier than their employers. Both depend on each other. Both are nothing in business without the other part. As much as a business depends on their customers.

Management by heart is prevent the business by the internal pressure from the employee. If our very own profit and success is the only subject that we keep in mind, we might be successful for a short period of time, but finding ourself again in a crash of business soon later. We never can succeed at the expenses of others, so let’s love and being honest.
