Introduction

 

Language is amazing! It's how we communicate with each other. But how do our brains actually understand what we read and hear? That's where psycholinguistics comes in. It's the study of how our minds and language work together.

 

Reading: A Brain Powerhouse

 

Reading might seem simple, but our brains are doing a lot of work:

 

- Spotting Letters: Our brains recognize individual letters and put them together to form words.

- Decoding the Code: Our brains figure out the sounds that each letter or group of letters makes.

- Finding Words We Know: Our brains search for words in our mental dictionary and get their meaning.
