Central Java Regional Police Holds Coordination Meeting on Preventive and Preemptive Security Measures (Doc.Personal)

Salatiga, July 31, 2024 --- The Salatiga Police, in collaboration with the Central Java Regional Police, participated in a virtual coordination meeting held in the Polres Salatiga Hall. The event, which was broadcast from the Central Java Regional Police Headquarters and attended by police units across the five Java-Bali police regions, saw the participation of various key stakeholders, including the Deputy Chief of Police, the Head of Community Guidance, Babinsa, Babinkamtibmas, local government officials, and five members of Senkom Mitra Polri.

In the opening address, Commissioner Lafri Prasetyono apologized for the absence of the Central Java Regional Police Chief and Deputy Chief, who were involved in an ongoing handover ceremony. He extended a warm welcome to all participants and emphasized the importance of cooperation among the three pillars---local leaders, Bhabinkamtibmas, and Babinsa---in successfully reducing high-risk activities in the region, despite Central Java being designated as a "red zone."

Director of Community Development for the Indonesian National Police Security Maintenance Agency, Brigadier General Muhammad Rudy Syarifudin, S.I.K., S.H., underscored the crucial role of the three pillars in delivering positive messages to the public to prevent terrorism, radicalism, and intolerance. He lauded the contributions of community members and students in maintaining public order during the campaign period, stressing the need for correct religious understanding and community vigilance as the "eyes and ears" of the police.

Brigadier General Pol Luki from Densus 88 provided insights on intolerance, terrorism, and radicalism, highlighting the continued, albeit reduced, threat levels in Indonesia. He emphasized the importance of public education and consultation prior to distributing e-books on tolerance, radicalism, and intolerance.

Haerudin, S.H., M.H., representing the Governor of Central Java and the Head of the Provincial National Unity and Politics Agency, expressed appreciation for the event. He referenced Central Java Governor Regulation No. 35 of 2022, a derivative of Presidential Regulation No. 7 of 2021 on the Prevention of Extremism and Violence, affirming the effectiveness of the three pillars in combatting terrorism, radicalism, and intolerance.

The meeting concluded with a call for enhanced knowledge-sharing and cooperation among all parties to ensure the safety and security of the Central Java region.

This event marks a significant step in the collaborative efforts of the Central Java Regional Police and its partners to fortify preventive and preemptive security measures across the region.(Mr.Ojeb)
