MENILAI SISTEM PENDIDIKAN DI INDONESIA : PELUANG, TANTANGAN, DAN INSPIRASI DARI NEGARA MAJU DI ASIA TENGGARA

Abstrak
The education system in Indonesia has an important role in determining the progress of a nation, but still faces various challenges, such as gaps in access, quality of teaching staff, relevance of the curriculum, and infrastructure that is not yet optimal. Through comparative studies with developed countries in Southeast Asia such as Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam, this research explores the strengths and weaknesses of the Indonesian education system as well as inspiration from these countries' strategies. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, the results show that Indonesia needs to focus on increasing equitable access, strengthening basic competencies, digitalizing education, and continuing training for teachers. It is hoped that the implementation of evidence-based policies and lessons learned from neighboring countries will be able to encourage educational reform that is inclusive and globally competitive.

Abstrak
Sistem pendidikan di Indonesia memiliki peran penting dalam menentukan kemajuan bangsa, namun masih menghadapi berbagai tantangan, seperti kesenjangan akses, kualitas tenaga pendidik, relevansi kurikulum, dan infrastruktur yang belum optimal. Melalui studi komparatif dengan negara-negara maju di Asia Tenggara seperti Singapura, Malaysia, dan Vietnam, penelitian ini mengeksplorasi keunggulan dan kelemahan sistem pendidikan Indonesia serta inspirasi dari strategi negara-negara tersebut. Dengan pendekatan deskriptif-kualitatif, hasil menunjukkan bahwa Indonesia perlu fokus pada peningkatan pemerataan akses, penguatan kompetensi dasar, digitalisasi pendidikan, serta pelatihan berkelanjutan bagi guru. Implementasi kebijakan berbasis bukti dan pembelajaran dari negara tetangga diharapkan mampu mendorong reformasi pendidikan yang inklusif dan berdaya saing global.
