What is Cegil?

Now social media has become a need for interaction which has also become a trend. Trends on social media spread quickly and cannot be stopped. One of them is the "cegil" (cewe gila/crazy girl) phenomenon. This phenomenon is the impact of the speed of information conveyed via social media.

Actually, what is cegil? The cegil phenomenon can be defined as referring to women who behave outside of what is normal in a social environment (eccentric). The origins of cegil can also be understood in different ways. Many things can influence the occurrence of this phenomenon. Gender roles that are strongly embedded in society, emotional conditions, social and cultural conditions, stress and mental health as well as the rapid development of social media are the background to increasingly complex stress and mental health as well. In essence, cegil is a stereotype of female behavior that is outside the normal limits of women in general social life.

To respond to this, we must be aware that social media plays an important role in providing stereotypes in judging someone. Whether this phenomenon is positive or negative depends on how we ourselves respond to it. Will we love and justify the mental healths that occur? Or do we view it as freedom of expression as a form of human right? The answer depends on your perspective.
