On 3rd November 2021, Ubisoft released a teaser trailer entitled 'Operation High Calibre' showing a brand new upcoming operator in Rainbow Six Siege , the cinematic video shows a female operator codenamed 'Thorn'. As she hasten from an ambush, she tossed a future-like sticky grenade on the other side of wall. After it detonates, glass projectiles were thrown away with Thorn's chance to retaliate.
We can see from the trailer that Thorn has a sticky grenade as her main gadget with a new SMG5 MK2 arsenal. There is no further information yet about Thorn, as Ubisoft announced that they will fully reveal the next big update on Monday, November 8. However, there is a leaked information from twitter describes that Thorn has a throwable proximity-activated gadget called the Razorbloom Shell, that sticks to any surface. When an attacker triggers the sensor, the shell explodes into many high-velocity projectiles. Damage is based on distance from blast radius. From the information leaks, we can assume that Thorn's gadget works similar to what Ela's Grzmot Mine does but with an extended damages. As a defender operator, she suits perfectly for those who play as a roamer with a high amount damage gadget and hasty arsenal.
