Melbourne, 2 October 2022 —The IISMA Monash 2022 awardees are excited to hold their 2nd event in Melbourne called Kopi for Charity. An event specifically held as a celebration of Batik Day known as “Hari Batik Nasional”. This event takes place in Farrer Halls’ Commons Room on the 2nd of October 2022.
This event showcased the beautiful traditional cloth from Indonesia and the unique flavors of various coffees from all over Indonesia. With more than 10 varieties of batik from all around Indonesia, visitors could try on and take pictures in the photo booth provided by the organizer. The visitors showed high interest in the displays and listened tightly to given explanations by some awardees.
“We are proud to create an event showcasing one of the many beautiful cultures and give back to the society,” said Adryan the person in charge. The event not only displays batik, it also doubles as a charity event. Through the sales of coffee served to visitors as they pay as they wish, IISMA Monash 2022 donates all of it to a non-governmental organization called Literacy for Life Foundation.
