UFC 268 Results: Usman and Namajunas Successfully Defend Their Title

UFC 268 just wrapped its event on 7th October 2021 where we see tremendous 2 title fights between Rose Namajunas vs Zhang Weili 2 and Kamaru Usman vs Colby Covington 2. 

Both cards served with full of bloodbath as both fighters trade punches at each other, moreover it's a second opportunity for 2 contenders who had lost their throne on the previous card. 

Rose Namajunas had snatched the strawweight championship title from Zhang Weili on UFC 261, making an incredible comeback after a long pause for her. 

On the other side, Covington lost the welterweight championship title to Usman on UFC 245 which was brutally KOed by The Nigerian Nightmare.

UFC 268 started with co-main event of second chapter between Thug Rose and Magnum Weili. At early round they started with caution, as Weili doesn't want to repeat the same mistake from previous fight. Weili delivers several good takedowns, forcing Rose to play on ground. 

As she struggles to baffles the champ, Rose managed to balance the ground play with an expert jiu-jitsu skill. The Champ opened a combination of kickboxing skill, a high kick to Weili's head but she successfully revolted and countervail her body.  This co-main event lasted long until 5th round with Namajunas earns a split decision win in a rematch, thus twharted Weili's revenge to reclaim the title.

Next we have the main event between The Nigerian Nightmare versus The Chaos, both fighter are known for their bloodbath since Covington harshly talked trash to Usman by bringing his family matters. On the first round, Usman and Covington played safe by pointing out every gap to delivers the punch. Usman managed to find every shot on him, and so did Covington. 

On the second round, things are getting little hasty, Usman managed to hurt Covington twice after landed a right hook and Covington answered with a ground defend, making the champ unable to hurt him more. On the third round, the table almost turned itself where Covington landed a big right hand and forcing Usman to the corner. 

Usman with his great wrestling skill stirred Covington's takedown by holding his right foot.  Their fight lasted long just as Weili and Namajunas did on previous card, with Usman earns a split decision victory thus making him a second longest title defenses almost equal to Anderson Silva. As a result, both contenders failed to seek revenge on reclaimed the title throne and the champions continue to shine on.
