Once upon a time, in the land of Java, there was a natural wonder that had fascinated visitors for generations, known as the Eternal Flame of Mrapen in Grobogan Regency. The Flame had been burning continuously for centuries and was believed to have spiritual significance for the local community.

The origin of the Eternal Flame of Mrapen began with the collapse of the Majapahit Empire in 1525, which made the Demak Kingdom, the Islamic kingdom in Java, the sole ruler. When Raden Patah became the King of Demak, he began to organize the kingdom's territory. The city of Demak was established as the center of government, trade, education, and the spread of Islam throughout Java.

As a symbol of the Islamic state, a grand mosque was built in Demak. The Majapahit pavilion was brought to Demak and became the porch of the Great Mosque, a blend of Islamic and Hindu cultures. The expedition the transport was led by Sunan Kalijaga and went smoothly. After they arrived at Mrapen, they were very tired, so the group rested there.

Because there was no water to drink, Sunan Kalijaga prayed to God to provide water for his followers. He planted his walking stick in the ground and pulled it out, but instead of water, a flame appeared and could not be extinguished (the Eternal Flame). From that lament on, the place was called Mrapen. Then, they did the same thing in another place, and clean drinking water flowed out.

The group drank the water and continued their journey to Demak. When they arrived in Demak, they realized they had left an item behind in Mrapen, an "ompak" (a pole base). Sunan Kalijaga stated that the "ompak" was unnecessary because it would have many uses later. The stone "ompak" is now known as "watu bobot."

Since then, the Eternal Flame of Mrapen has become a pilgrimage site for Muslims and Hindus who pay their respects and offer prayers. The flame is believed to have healing properties Flames are said to bring good luck to those who visit and offer offerings.
