What A Pretty rainbow! Is This Magic?
Rainbows are a natural phenomenon in the form of optical illusions that produce beautiful colors in the atmosphere and produce patterns that stretch across the sky. It turns out that rainbows are formed not because of amiracle but there are underlying elements, that is raindrops and sunlight. From these two elements to form a rainbow must pass through 3 stages, firs is reflection, dispersion, and refraction. Check out the 3 stages below to produce a beautiful rainbow!
- Reflection, is a process that occurs when after rain and their air is still moist and sunlight reappears. Humid air usually still produces grains of raindrops which are likened to mirrors. When the mirror is exposed to sunlight, it produces a reflection of reflected light.
- Dispersion, is the process of decomposing light from reflected sunlight. This decomposition of light causes sunlight to become white in color. This white light consists of a spectrum of colors and each has its own wavelength. Then decomposes automatically to form beautiful rainbow colors.
- Refraction, is the process of forming the distinctive bow-like shape of the rainbow. At this stage, the light that makes it through the raindrops begins to bounce in different directions, the rainbow-forming color spectrum will bend in a number of directions following the length of the light waves, so that the rainbow seen in the sky looks like an arc of light.
