Listening is a form of blessing from the Creator to us as beings. With this sense, we can perform many beneficial routines. Things that may seem ordinary to some can be very meaningful to others. Hearing is essential for gaining an understanding of what is being heard. Listening is also highly needed in today's world because by becoming a good listener, we can help facilitate better understanding of tasks, sharpen sympathy and empathy, and make communication easier in the various languages we know.

In the workplace, listening becomes a crucial skill. Listening is an important aspect of good teamwork. By listening, the instructions given by superiors can be understood well. After going through the stage of listening attentively, we are required to digest and analyze the instructions, then we can implement them in action. Thus, listening becomes the most important process in the work environment to help facilitate understanding of one's job.

Listening not only helps us better understand tasks but also helps to evoke feelings of sympathy and empathy. Humans are naturally born with sympathy and a strong sense of empathy. These feelings allow us to easily understand the suffering experienced by others. One way to measure how much sympathy and empathy a person has is by trying to listen to the complaints of others. Opening oneself up to listen to others sharpens and enhances the sympathy and empathy we possess.

Nowadays, listening is no longer confined to one's mother tongue. The challenges of an evolving era have made the skills required for listening more advanced. We now need to start listening to the various languages we have learned to avoid misinterpretation. Pronunciation and even writing have become very important, especially as there are more similarities in what we hear, but with different meanings. Therefore, we must begin to train our ears in foreign languages so that interpretation does not become ambiguous and confusing.

In conclusion, listening is a primary skill in today's world. Listening is not only about conversation but also plays a key role in understanding our work. It brings forth feelings within us regarding what we hear. Listening is also a process of selecting the languages we understand and can use in communication. Therefore, do not underestimate listening as a skill because by listening, we can communicate smoothly with others.
