Gender Based Violence is Schokingly Increasing Amid 60 Million Forcibly Displaced or Stateless Women and Girls

Conflict and violence, human right violations, and climate change are the main cause why people live their homeland to seek asylum and refugee status. In 2024, there are 60 million vulnerable women and girls in the high risk condition from Gender Based Violence (GBV). (29/11)

Refugees,asylum, or stateless of Women and girls are high frequently a subject of many violations that break down their rights like in Congo they have become a weapon for war in the battle ground, in Chad Women are raped while moving to the saver zone, and in Afghanistan women are restricted for their freedom of expression.

Shabia told further "In addition to conflict-related sexual violence, forcibly displaced women and girls also face high risks of intimate partner violence. in Certain displacement settings the risks for them were estimated to be 20 per cent higher than for non-displaced women and girls".

This obviously needs an urgent action to tackle the issues and makes the displaced women and girls secured, this include humanitarian aids for refugees on many critical areas for refugees and stateless such as Sudan, Ukraine, Syria, DRC, South Sudan, and Afghanistan.

"For instance, for six major regional refugee response plans -- covering humanitarian needs for refugees from the DRC, Afghanistan, Sudan, Ukraine, South Sudan and Syria -- gender-based violence programming for the entire year for all participating organizations amounting to $236 million are currently only 28 per cent funded," she said.
