In listening, accountants can better understand client needs and expectations, as well as identify potential problems that may arise. By actively listening, accountants can gain deeper insights, improve the interpretation of financial information, and ensure that any actions taken are based on a comprehensive understanding. 

In a complex business environment, negotiation skills are key to success for an accountant. There are situations where accountants need to negotiate with clients or other stakeholders, such as in pricing services or resolving certain issues. Good negotiation skills will enable accountants to reach favourable agreements, maintain positive relationships, and ensure the satisfaction of all parties involved. Interpersonal skills are also an important element in the repertoire of an accountant facing AI. Interacting with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders requires sensitivity to the dynamics of human relationships. Good interpersonal skills build the foundation for solid working relationships, creating a collaborative environment, and ensuring that accountants can work effectively in cross- disciplinary teams. 

Overall, the complexity of accountants' work in the face of AI requires them to not only have technical expertise, but also master diverse communication skills. Articulating analytical findings orally, in writing, and through interpersonal interactions is key to ensuring that the value added by an accountant is not only measured in technical terms, but also in their ability to communicate effectively with the entire business ecosystem. As such, accountants who strengthen their communication skills will be able to cope with the dynamic changes brought about by artificial intelligence and remain a key player in the ever-evolving business landscape.

Therefore, to face the transformation brought about by artificial intelligence (AI) in accounting, an accountant plays a crucial role in maintaining its relevance. While AI is capable of taking over routine tasks, such as data collection and analysis, the need for effective communication skills remains an irreplaceable aspect. Good communication skills are not just a tool for conveying financial information, but also the foundation for building strong relationships with clients. In a business environment that is increasingly influenced by technology, the ability to explain the complexity of financial information in a way that non-technical parties can understand is crucial. In addition, good communication skills also enable accountants to highlight the added value they offer, such as the ability to provide in-depth analyses and strategic advice. Therefore, an accountant must realise that developing communication skills is not just an option, but a necessity in the face of the AI era. By integrating communication skills in their professional repertoire, accountants can respond effectively to dynamic changes in the accounting industry, maintain their relevance, and play a more strategic role in an increasingly sophisticated work environment.
